Sony speaks for PSOne emulation

According to McGrath from Ross on the PlayStation Blog, Sony is planning to bring new classics of the first PlayStation to PlayStation Store, but the adjustment process requires "some time". Every game for PSOne be available in localized versions, tells McGrath, they must be resolved legal problems (licensing and publishing rights) and those related to test quality control of the games.

Finally, given the green light, you can proceed with the construction of the section dedicated to the game on the Store. In particular, the legal problems and those related to tests of the games to be difficult and often very long to make the transition to a product on the PlayStation Network: "If a game does not pass QA, there are some things we can do to solve problems but, unlike a title for PSN, we can not contact the developers of the game in question, "said McGrath.

However, the emulator for the first PlayStation game has steadily improved, so that "often serious bugs that prevent you from running the games are fixed in later versions. "The million dollar question is: why some games are available on the U.S. PS Store but not in Europe? Generalmenet The answer is that this may depend on the rights of publication or bugs that we find in the PAL version emulated but not in NTSC.

McGrath insists, however, that Sony wants to bring to consumers as "the greatest possible number of PSOne games." It also will use the service for PlayStation Suite, with which the classics of the first Sony console will arrive on Android devices.
