Sales down for games from Square Enix

The number of games sold by Square Enix in the first nine months of the fiscal year decreased by 28% over the same period last year. There was a decrease (-58%) compared to last year also, the operating profit of the company. In the first quarter of fiscal 2009, Square Enix launched blockbuster the likes of Dragon Quest IX and Final Fantasy XIII.

With regard to the period under review, however, the publisher emphasizes the performance of Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 and Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, both titles have more than one million copies sold worldwide. In the last quarter of the fiscal year (January to March 2011) Square Enix will release Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together (PSP), Puzzle Bobble 3D (3DS), Final Fantasy Dissidia 012 [duodecim] (PSP), Tomb Raider Trilogy (PS3), The 3rd Birthday (PSP) and Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection (PSP).
