As stated by Yuji Horii lynchpin in an interview to the magazine Nintendo Power (via GoNintendo), Dragon Quest X is almost ready. "We can say that the development is progressing well and we are already in the later stages of the game. In this moment we can not share details, but by the end of the year we should be able to announce something about it." Horii has confirmed that Dragon Quest X is Wii exclusive, and suggested that fans DQVIII, published in 2004 on PlayStation 2, should adopt the approach of the game.
"Most people will want to play Dragon Quest on a large screen, so we are developing for the Wii. Of course, in future we may return to work on handheld consoles, we decided prior to the development of each game, but everything depends on the desires of the consumer." The last game of the series of Square-Enix, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, was released on the DS last year.
