Kensuke Tanabe, Nintendo is looking for new U.S. studies with the characteristics of Retro Studios, a daunting task, Nintendo admitted the manager, because of the attitude of many Western studies, more interested in business and real art development . "I work with various partners such as Next Level Games and Monster Studios (developers of Punchout! And Pilotwings Resort) and they, like Retro Studios, they share this philosophy with us," Tanabe said in an interview with Edge.
"I'm looking for other companies who share with us the meaning of art development." However, "the number of companies who only cares about doing business is increasing. There are too many cases of this kind in the industry or at least that's my perception." After developing the games in the series Metroid Prime, Retro Studios developed the last series title Donkey Kong Country Returns, available since last year on Wii.
