The Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has admitted that one of the most disappointing aspects of the Wii was no doubt his support of online gaming, but also stated that in the future things will be different. During his speech at the annual Q & A with Investor Relations, Iwata said that "it did not seek outside help when it came to putting together the structure of Network Wii was a mistake." "We could not follow the speed with which the world has changed in recent years and the increasing demand of our customers." "The future of the Wii could have been different if we had tightened the right partnership for network services." Iwata, however, has repeatedly stressed the fact that the company has learned from his mistakes and that will build on the lessons received in the near future, either with 3DS that with the new home console, which will be presented on June 7 in Los Angeles during the Nintendo conference.
"Being well aware of what we do from now on, however, does not mean you stop trying to differentiate ourselves from others," said Iwata. "Of course I can not say anything yet, but you can rest assured that Nintendo will try in future to make a difference and to propose new ways to play."
