"Price-cut major move"

In an interview with MSNBC, Nintendo U.S. boss Reggie Fils-Aime, has suggested that the new price-cut could double the sales of Wii. "For us it is a very important move. Since we launched the console in November 2006 this is only the second price-cut. And in the last generation of consoles, the market leader [PlayStation 2] did record 50% of sales after reaching a price equal to or less than $ 149.

" Wii is currently at an altitude of 86 million units sold worldwide, PlayStation 2 at an altitude of 150. "When we launch our new console in 2012, consumers who buy it will be different by the user who is preparing to buy the Wii at this time. Some consumers want to buy just the news, while others prefer to have a greater choice of software ".

"We believe there are different types of consumers interested in the Wii, people waiting for a long time this announcement."
