7 Studios Activision closes

In the past few hours, Activision has announced the closure of the music division responsible for the development of DJ Hero and Guitar Hero and the cancellation of True Crime. According to new rumors, however, the dark of the publisher of Call of Duty would also hit 7 Studios. In a message given by Alex on Twitter Victory, a staff member of the studio in Los Angeles (via Joystiq), reads: "Activision is closing the business for Guitar Hero.

This also includes my studio." The creative director Dan Lehrich then confirmed the difficulties of recent days, but said he was optimistic for the future. Founded in 1999, 7 Studios has created a series of tie-ins which include Fantastic Four, Shrek the Third and Napoleon Dynamite. The study was bought by Activision in 2009, during the development of Scratch: The Ultimate DJ.

The publisher of Scratch, Genius Products, filed a lawsuit against Activision accusing the company it had acquired the studio to keep the game hit the shelves. Subsequently, half the workforce of 7 Studios was fired.
