The boss of Australia 2K Marin has resigned

XCOM wrote the history of video game offering a formula capable of sublimating the turn-based battle, to include the destructibility of each element of the screen and create a unique atmosphere. It is difficult today, with 3D and with a user increasingly shrewd cunning, merely repeat the same formula to update the technical sector.

That is 2K Marin has decided to change by creating a 3D action and proposing an alien invasion in the 50 key. An ambitious project for a reboot risky that many observe carefully. Then puts the fear of abandonment Martin Slater, boss of the Australian half of 2K Marin, and doubts arise about the health status of the project.

But 2K did not wait long before the incident and responded quickly: "In the course of a project development team changes and evolves from time to time. While we confirm that Slater Martin is no longer with us rest assured that there is no change in the development of XCOM. The project continues to involve the team in California and Australia and the command remains the creative director Jonathan Pelling who has worked on titles such as Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Freedom Force and Tribes.

" Remains valid Voice, published a few days ago from multiplayer. it, that the final form of XCOM probably will not be the same as shown in the trailer released last June. Source: Twitter - Joystiq
