Nintendo does not work with amateur developers

Nothing developers garage Reggie Fils-Aime has wanted to make a precise distinction between the types of independent developers who can aspire to work with the Nintendo machines. A Gamasutra president of Nintendo of America said it would "separate the real from independent developers who are dedicated to the development of video games as a hobby," and therefore wants to "absolutely maintain contact with independent" but that "the line Nintendo has no plans to do business with developers garage.

It seems, therefore, a continuation of already successful line of thought by Iwata at the GDC, with what seemed a very direct connection to the App Store and the trend of games to offer this low cost but feature content often even less valid. Source: Gamasutra
