A sequel to River City Ransom on the NES game released 22 years ago and known in the West under the title Street Gangs, is currently in production. According Andriasang it would be occupying the Japanese Miracle Kidz team, comprising among other things by people who worked on the parent series. The output on the console (which were not specified) is planned for the summer, with a PC version to follow in early 2012.
