The wave of pocket monsters Predictably, the arrival of the new Black & White Pokémon has sparked the usual tsunami of sales on the gaming market, leading to new record results. On the U.S. market, the game in both versions has reached one million copies sold in just the first day of marketing, namely 1.08 million copies on March 6, as killing the previous record set by Pokémon Diamond and Pearl 780,000 copies in its first day.
In Japan, it sold 2.5 million copies in its first week and in the United Kingdom has made its mark by becoming the second game "fastest selling in the UK market for Nintendo DS, beaten only by Professor Layton and Pandora's Box.
