Sony has unveiled the name of the chapter in the Uncharted series for the PlayStation Portable, an episode set chronologically before the events narrated in the first PlayStation 3 Uncharted Drake's Fortune. Uncharted: Golden Abyss is developed by Sony Bend, the authors of the PSP title, Resistance Retribution.
The story of Golden Abyss is written by John Garvin, Sony Bend in collaboration with the creative director of Naughty Dog's Amy Hennig, and draw on the use of about two hours of footage for which they were made a few sessions with motion capture studies of Naughty Dog. In terms of gameplay, Golden Abyss again present a mixture of exploration and fighting in the third person that characterizes the chapters for the PlayStation 3 with the addition of some variants such as touch controls.
The story will not be directly connected to the first Uncharted.
