Some delay for Nintendo? Apparently, the eShop for Nintendo 3DS arrive only in May in Japan, through a system upgrade that will include a web browser and the ability to transfer to the console titles DSiWare. The eShop will allow users to buy games for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color, but applications developed specifically for the 3DS.
Nintendo seems to have alerted the early adopters about the possibility that the online store is available on day one, indicating that an upgrade of the system software may need to access this feature. Source: Kotaku
