Sony PSP has asked developers to make versions available for download "their games so they can also be played on NGP. To make this formal request was Kaz Hirai in an interview with Japanese site Impress Watch, translated by Andriasang. The boss explained that the new Sony handheld console will be backward compatible, but only those titles that will be available for download.
Hirai also explained that the "old" PSP games will run on new hardware using emulation and internal users can easily transfer to all NGP games already downloaded on the previous console, provided they do not exceed the usual limit imposed by PlayStation network. Much of the PSP line-up is already currently available for downloading from the PSN, but there are still major titles including the recent (to us) Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.
