In the midst of drastic decisions to the financial statements of Activision there was also room for some bad news, especially on a couple of cancellations and some important redundancy in sight. Despite a recent special issue dedicated to EGM, True Crime: Hong Kong will not come on the market, was officially blocked by the publisher along with Guitar Hero, which has apparently reached its conclusion with the last chapter came out.
The motivation for that decision are the continued decline in sales that characterize the genre of music, while not many explanations were given on the cancellation of True Crime: Hong Kong seems to be simply driven by the desire to focus efforts elsewhere. On the other hand, the financial conference, CEO Eric Hirshberg has made it clear that the work carried out on the game did not seem to allow the game to emerge in the genre of action game with open world, apparently "was not good enough." Apparently, the development team Freestyle Games would suffer a heavy downsizing in terms of personnel following the cancellation of Guitar Hero.
