Not everyone was convinced of turning 3D Hideki Konno, the famous designer Nintendo said during GDC 2011, that initially the concept of 3DS has met with strong resistance within the company. At the time the designer was responsible for software and was working on Mario Kart for Wii. In the spring of 2008 he had to hand the concept of 3DS because Nintendo had decided to collaborate more closely the hardware and software departments.
Struck on his way to Damascus, Konno was then thrown on the new project and thanks to the team composed of hardware and Sugino Umezu has pursued the project is now reality.
