Epic: "Apps from the $ 1 they kill us"

Not only is Nintendo afraid of the future: the president Mike Capps of Epic identifies the growing market of "app for $ 1" a substantial threat to the current state of the videogame. "If there is something that is killing us is the app for a dollar. How can we sell a game for 60 dollars, although it is worth all its money, if people are accustomed to spending 99 cents," Capps asks, echoing the same question brought forward in recent times by Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America.

This is however not only the new wave of games at low prices, according to Capps is widespread uncertainty on the future of gaming as there had never been in a 20-year history of Epic. There are many new technologies and new trends that are gathering in the gaming market, "there will still be physical distribution in the next 10 or even 5 years? People will be really interested in a new generation of consoles? What will happen to the PC?" While the past few years were characterized by a relatively simple, so you could be sure that if a console was successful, but his direct change would be launched on the market with a good result, according to the president of Epic now we are at a "point of inflection "between tradition and new trends.

"We will, however, a technology that will be great and required by all, but this does not mean that we are a bit 'scared." Source: IndustryGamers
