Magic simulated activity on our PC At the opening of the sawmill Terragnolo, one of the promotions of the Town Museum will be to assist the reconstruction of the actual functioning of the structure of a virtual simulator sawmill: Woodcutter Simulator, to give way everyone to experience the magical world of saws and logs that fall.
Woodcutter Simulator is a very hardcore title that simulates the work of a sawmill in every detail, putting you in the face of disparate issues, such activity may result. We read the official press release, with all the details on the initiative: Former sawmill Venetian Terragnolo: from the manual processing of wood in the virtual one.
Rovereto, April 29, 2011 - On April 30, 2011 to the Town Museum invites you to visit the old sawmill Terragnolo (location of the Sega Terragnolo - Trento). The sawmill, which harnesses the power of water to operate, has been completely restored, and now running, is open to the public, which, through a guided tour, I can understand the operation.
The visits are possible at the mill on weekends throughout the summer. Also, thanks to the collaboration with One Way Management Srl (Italian company that operates the PC Simulator Collection - published by the Dutch publisher Ingress bv), through the Woodcutter Simulator game - available in Italy from April 2011 - you can manage a virtual modern sawmill, through a specific location, equipped with devices for gaming produced by Raptor Gaming Technology GmbH.
In parallel, to those who want to participate in the contest "Make your own solid perfect," will be given a kit consisting of a wooden cube (a balsa workable) and sandpaper. Competitors will have to "polish" the cube of wood, to create - by hand - a perfect solid. To validate the goodness of the solid, will use a measurement system consisting of a cylinder, inside which air is blown.
In this "pipe" Participants can enter their product. If the object produced by the competitor "float" within a specific range of values - indicated by a graduated scale, this will win a prize offered by the Town Museum and the Association of Crafts and Small Enterprises of the Province Trent (the new Nintendo 3DS ™, Wii ™, and any copies of video games that make the PC Simulator Collection).
"This activity at the old sawmill Terragnolo" refers Finotti Franco, director of the Museo Civico di Rovereto "is one of several educational and cultural activities that our museum offers its visitors. The initiative we propose, covers two aspects on which we are working for some time: the recovery of manual, young and old alike, and the use of video games as a means of education and culture.
The importance of manual skills is an issue on which we focus a lot, thanks to robotics labs that offer to ' inside the museum and at Sperimentarea, a citadel for education with outdoor and indoor spaces reserved for educational activities, in which users can 'experience' in first person.
While the video game, for us the museum is half that, speaking language of youth, can educate and disseminate knowledge and skills, as in the case of Woodcutter Simulator, which allows the user to manage a virtual sawmill.
