New friction between the Italian Association of Interactive Multimedia and the Italian chapter of the Society of developers this morning DETACHED AIOMI (Italian Association of Interactive Multimedia) and IGDA (International Game Developers Association) have jointly announced they have entered into an agreement concerning the leadership and support of the Italian chapter of IGDA.
We read the official press release of the future agreement: Italian Association of Interactive Multimedia - Movement for the Culture of Video Game, is pleased to announce the partnership agreement with the IGDA, International Game Developers Association. The IGDA is the largest non-profit global organization that is committed in helping individuals who aspire to create video games, with the mission to promote conditions of their profession and networking opportunities, promoting the game development and focus on issues most involve the sector developers.
The partnership agreement signed by AIOMI dall'IGDA and provides, in particular, the fact that both engage in mutual support of its missions, the promotion and growth of the global game development community. With this in mind, especially AIOMI is committed to supporting growth and networking of the Italian chapter dell'IGDA.
So far nothing unusual. Two companies make an agreement and make it known to the general public. The problem is that apparently no one has bothered to inform the Italian chapter of the IGDA's affecting their lives. The result is an informed response from the taste quite controversial, which in fact rejects the agreement: This morning, through a press release, and AIOMI IGDA has announced an official partnership for the support by the Italian chapter of IGDA AIOMI.
We wish to clarify that the board of the IGDA-it was not aware of this agreement, which was made directly with the international board. IGDA Italy remains convinced of the need for an association of persons independent of other similar entities and reserves the right to discuss with its members and any necessary arrangements for such cooperation.
Formally requested the international board to comment on the issue and to discuss with the Italian team to any other proposals for collaboration. Italian Press IGDA Chapter: LINK
