Channel 5 defends the attack on the Games

The editor of The Wright Air Show has defended the episode, broadcast last month, during which the murder committed by a twenty-two had been linked to violent video games. Gamer's Voice that occasion had defended the medium from indiscriminate attacks: "Nothing new, like the TV sensationalism when they talk about players and shooter," he said in a statement Gamer's Voice.

"Instead of trying the causes of these terrible crimes, people prefer to point the finger at video games. The medium is an easy target and seems able to provide explanations on the increase in violent acts." Gamers' Voice has complained to the editor of the transmission and requested an explanation on the morning broadcast of a video taken from a 18 + game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

"We thought it was important to show a short film to illustrate the subject," replied the editor, "was necessary because many of our viewers are not gamers. In any case it was not violence but a real game." Regarding the attack on the medium, Caroline Davies of The Wright Stuff said: "We always try to provide balanced discussions, as we did in that case.

We want to give space to all views, we are the only ones in the UK to offer debates so loud ".
