The Marvel Universe, speaking developers

From a big game comes great responsibility Announced last week by Marvel and the Gazillion publisher, Marvel Universe looks like a free-to-play MMO, and its development was entrusted to an internal team, named for the occasion Secret Identity. Gamasutra was able to chat with Jeff Lind, director of the study, to understand what we can expect from the game and what will, eventually, the differences with the namesake Marvel Universe Online (developed by Cryptic Studios and Microsoft).

During the interview, Lind said that the game will allow us to assume the role of a Marvel superhero, as might be expected, and that the history of the fund was entrusted to a rather well known author, from the House of Ideas. The team that will build the Marvel Universe is composed of many people from other experiences with famous studies, therefore it is not a project entrusted to strangers.

One of the major factors taken into account by Lind and his team will represent each superhero and his powers, which in practical terms will match what we know through the comics yet lend itself to use playful without creating a clear imbalance between choice to another. At the moment nothing is known except that the project will probably come out in 2012 and that even now the team of Secret Identity feels some pressure on him ...
