Continue the battle between Sony and LG

According to documents reported by the blog FOSS Patents, Sony has appealed against the order of the court in The Hague which allows the manufacturer LG to block imports of the PlayStation 3 in Europe. According to LG, Sony infringed certain patents relating to the Blu-ray, used by Sony on PlayStation 3.

According to documents Foss Patents, LG and Sony were discussed last year of a potential exchange of licenses for the use of a range of technologies. The deal would have run aground because LG had wanted an agreement aimed exclusively at the Blu-ray while Sony would have preferred a broader agreement.

According to LG, as a result of failure to reach agreement, Sony was sued LG in the U.S. and the Korean manufacturer was attacked in retaliation for legal Sony in Europe.
